Blackpool Closing in on Hulse and Rangel

Finally some good news for Blackpool FC fans.

The Blackpool Gazette that Blackpool are close to completing deals for Derby striker Rob Hulse and Swansea full back Angel Rangel.

"Various deals are being accepted and players are having medicals so with a bit of luck there will be one or two additions," said chairman Karl Oyston.

"But it has been a culture shock, that's the proper way of describing it for the manager and myself.
"I didn't think transfer fee and salary demands would be as they were.

"It's based on what we have financially rather than their value. We've discussed over 40 players now. But I think we'll get there, we always do.

"We just can't risk the future of the club or not develop the squad long term."

Blackpool Fail Again: Chris Basham Bid Rejected

Failure's continue for Ian Holloway and Blackpool FC as their bid for Bolton youngster Chris Basham was rejected.

Bolton boss Owen Coyle is keen to keep the 22-year old midfielder at the Reebok stadium, the midfielder played 10 times for his club last season.

Although the amount of the bid has not been disclosed Bolton have confirmed that they indeed rejected a bid from Blackpool FC.

Blackpool or Newcastle for Tom Cleverley

Manchester United midfielder Tom Cleverley will decide this week between Newcastle United and Blackpool.

Cleverley, 20, has just inked a new 3-year deal with Manchester United but boss Sir Alex Ferguson wants to loan him out to gain first team experience with a Premier League side.

Cleverley spent the last year on loan to Championship side Watford, scoring 11 goals in 33 appearances and won the club's player of the year award.

Cleverley's representatives will meet with club officials from Newcastle and Blackpool in the coming days and decide the youngster's destination.

Pool to make Bid for Brett Pitman

According to New Of The World Blackpool are set to make a one million pound bid for Bournemouth's 22-year old striker Brett Pitman.


Pool were also linked to the young striker earlier in July by Daily Mail as reported here.

Pool favorite to land Welbeck ?

Blackpool are the favorites to land Manchester United striker Danny Welbeck on a season long loan.

Sunderland are also in the running to sign the striker but Welbeck and Ferguson would prefer a move to Blackpool as he is going to get a lot more Ist team games at Pool.

United will soon make a decision on the young strikers future.

Jean Calve Join Blackpool On Trial

Blackpool have taken French right-back Jean Calve on trial with a view to sign him permanently.

Calve has a successful trial with Sheffield United but will prefer a move to Blackpool to play in the Premier League.

Pool took the Frenchman on trial after a bid Swansea rejected a bid for defender Angel Rangel.

Patrick McCourt Set to Sign New Contract With Celtic

Blackpool received another set back today after it was revealed that winger McCourt is close to signing a new deal with Celtic.

Blackpool have already had failed bids for Striker DJ Campbell, defender Angel Rangel and an attempt to sign striker Jon Stead.

Blackpool were locked in talks with Celtic for the signing of McCourt but they couldn't agree on a fee with Celtic demanding close to half a million while Pool offering only half of that.

Swansea turn down bid for Rangel

Swansea have announced on their official website that they have rejected an offer from Blackpool for defender Angel Rangel.

Swans manager Rodgers said:
"An offer has come in to the chairman from Blackpool for Angel. But it has not been accepted.
 "The situation is under control and I am due to have a meeting with Angel tomorrow.
 "I want him to stay and there is the offer of another contract on the table for him."

El Zhar on Loan from Liverpool?

Reports today are linking Blackpool with a possible loan deal for Liverpool winger Nabil El Zhar.

The 23-year old Moroccan has failed to make the grade at Anfield and Hodgson wants to get him off the wage bill. He he rumored to be on 40k a week wages.

However his inflated wages may be a problem for Blackpool. El Zhar is a pacy winger with some fancy tricks but lacks consistency.

Pool linked with Harewood

According to The Sun Ian Holloway is in talks with striker Marlon Harewood over a possible move.

The 30 year old striker is out of contract after being released by Aston Villa, he will add much needed physical presence upfront for Pool.

Another favorable thing is that the striker is on a free and that will certainly be an added bonus.

Blackpool's bid for DJ Campbell Rejected


Leicester City have rejected an offer of £1m from Blackpool for striker DJ Campbell.

Earlier in January this year Leicester were demanding only  £250,000 for the striker but now they are demanding as much as £2m .

The Foxes have now offered the Campbell a new contract after new manager Paulo Sousa decided to give the striker another chance. He has so far bagged five goals in the Pre-Season.

Blackpool make bid for Tom Eaves

According to Skysports News Blackpool have made
an approach for Oldham striker Tom Eaves.

Blackpool had made an offer of £200,000 earlier but it was rejected by Oldham last week, but now they have made an improved offer of £250,000 for the teenage striker plus add-ons that would take the fee close to £1 million.

He has recently signed a five-year contract with his club, Premier League sides Tottenham and Fulham are also interested in securing his signature.
 
Despite not scoring once in the league for Oldham , the young striker struck a hatrick Vs Bolton in a Pre-season friendly on July 28,2010.

Blackpool to Take Valencia's Sunday on Loan

Blackpool are looking to sort out a loan deal for on trial Valencia midfielder Stephen Sunday.

The highly rated 21 year old defensive midfielder has failed to break into the La Liga side's first team and they are looking to loan him out to gain experience.

The Nigerian born Spanish player has represented Spain at U-19, U-20 and U-21 level.

Hollway wants Ipswich striker Jon Stead

Manager Ian Holloway is in talks with Ipswich striker Jon Stead who has been told by his club that he can leave.

Stead, 27 rejected an offer from Bristol City after they agree a £200,000 fee with Ipswich.

Holloway is desperate to strengthen his squad after the threadbare squad lost Billy Clarke for the entire season.

Blackpool target loan deal for Tottenham's Kyle Walker ?

According to the People Blackpool manager Ian Holloway is trying to secure the loan signing of Tottenham full back Kyle Walker.

Walker, 20, has featured for Tottenham in the Pre-Season so far but Rednknapp is keen to loan out the full back to gain more top flight experience.

Tottenham signed Walker from Sheffield United last year, and loaned him back to the Yorkshire club, he was recalled in early February by the time the young defender had already featured in 29 games for Shieffield.

Tom Cleverley and Danny Welbeck Set For Loans

Manchester United boss Sir Alex Ferguson has said that he is looking to loan out young duo Danny Welbeck and Tom Cleverley.

Blackpool could potentially snap both the youngsters, Holloway has so far been disappointed over the lack of transfer funds, signing two such promising youngsters on loan could be a real bonus.

'This is going to be a big season for Danny because for the last three years he has not had a consistent run of games.

'He needs to play all the time and that is one of the reasons we are considering sending him on loan again to a Premier League team.

'Tom is a very talented boy. He is going to be a very good footballer. We are also considering putting him on loan to a Premier League team.'

Robert Koren To Join Blackpool FC ?

According to Daily Mail Blackpool FC are back in the hunt for Slovenian captain Robert Koren after eariler talks failed over his wage demands. But now talks have again started after the player dropped his wage demands.

Koren, 29, was released by West Brom following their promotion to the Premier League after they failed to agree terms over a new contract. Now

Koren also has admirers in Spain and Portugal but the midfielder is keen to play in the English Premier League.Koren has 49 International caps for his country, Slovenia . He is the captain of the national side and scored a winner against Algeria in the on going FIFA World Cup.

The midfielder would be an excellent addition to the side considering his vast experience of the English game.

Blackpool Closing In On Celtic's Paddy McCourt

Blackpool are close to signing Celtic winger Paddy McCourt.

According to the Sunday Mail Celtic have rejected an initial bid of £350,000 from Blackpool, but the Seasiders are going to make an improved bid of £500,000 for the winger.

.26-year old McCourt has often dazzled the crowd with this breathtaking runs, but the only question mark is his consistency.

Francis Jeffers On Trial With Blackpool

Former Arsenal and Everton striker Francis Jeffers is on a trial with Blackpool and hopes to secure Premier League football with the seasiders.

Jeffers, 29, was released by Sheffield Wednesday in May this year after three-years at the club.
