Blackpool Closing in on Hulse and Rangel

Finally some good news for Blackpool FC fans.

The Blackpool Gazette that Blackpool are close to completing deals for Derby striker Rob Hulse and Swansea full back Angel Rangel.

"Various deals are being accepted and players are having medicals so with a bit of luck there will be one or two additions," said chairman Karl Oyston.

"But it has been a culture shock, that's the proper way of describing it for the manager and myself.

"I didn't think transfer fee and salary demands would be as they were.

"It's based on what we have financially rather than their value. We've discussed over 40 players now. But I think we'll get there, we always do.

"We just can't risk the future of the club or not develop the squad long term."

Blackpool Fail Again: Chris Basham Bid Rejected

Failure's continue for Ian Holloway and Blackpool FC as their bid for Bolton youngster Chris Basham was rejected.

Bolton boss Owen Coyle is keen to keep the 22-year old midfielder at the Reebok stadium, the midfielder played 10 times for his club last season.

Although the amount of the bid has not been disclosed Bolton have confirmed that they indeed rejected a bid from Blackpool FC.

The rumours keep on coming as Gary Hooper becomes the latest player to be linked with Blackpool FC.

According to reports Blackpool have made contact with Scunthrope over the possible transfer of their prolific striker Gary Hooper.

The striker scored 20 goals in all competition for Scunthrope, for now Blackpool are reluctant to pay the £2 million valuation of Scuthorpe.

Blackpool have taken French Under-21 captain Malaury Martin on trial , the tenacious 21 year old midfielder has captained France from U-17 to U-21 level.

Not much is known about the player as he has played very little football over the last two years, but Wikipedia describes him as " A rugged and uncompromising central midfielder with a great range of passing and a wicked free-kick "

One thing is sure about the player that he is indeed talented having captained the French U-17, U-19 and U-21. The only question is can Blackpool revive his career?

Blackpool FC Consider Bid For Ebanks-Blake

According to the Daily Mail Blackpool FC are prepared to make a bid for Wolves striker Sylvan Ebanks-Blake.

Blake, 24, netter only two times for Wolves last season, but Blackpool manager Ian Holloway is confident of his abilities having previously worked with him at Plymouth Argyle.

Blake has still three-years left on his contract and will cost round about 2.5 million pound.

Blackpool to make bid for Brett Pitman

Blackpool boss Ian Holloway is set to launch a £700,000 bid for Bournemouth striker Brett Pitman according to a report in Daily Mail.

The 22 year old had an excellent season with Bournemouth and is also being chased by Reading and Bristol City.

According to The Lancashire Telegraph Blackpool FC boss Ian Holloway is interested in brining former Manchester United winger Chris Eagle on loan from Burnley.

Burnley have recently signed Preston winger Ross Wallace and that has fueled speculation that the Clarets may offload Eagles.

But Burnley manger Brian Laws has rejected claims that the winger will be sent on loan, as he prepares his side for an assault at the Championship.

"I’ve been delighted with everybody's response from who we’ve kept and I don’t foresee anybody moving unless somebody comes out with a remarkable offer.

"That's when I might have a problem, but there are no problems at the moment.", said Laws.

He has also been linked with Ipswich and Preston. Preston are offering him a player/manager role.

Blackpool FC are leading a pack of clubs trying to secure the signature of out of contract USA and Rangers winger DaMarcus Beasley.


Beasley has just returned form the World Cup with United States and is keen to stay in Britain after his contract with Rangers ran out. Along with Blackpool, West Brom and Nottingham Forest are also chasing the winger.

Beasley has previously played in the Premier League with Manchester City and has also played for Dutch side PSV. The winger has 17 goals and 93 international caps to his name.

Blackpool FC are keen on signing Manchester United midfielder Tom Cleverley on loan.

Cleverley, 20, has just inked a new 3-year deal with Manchester United but boss Sir Alex Ferguson wants to loan him out to gain first team experience with a Premier League side.

Cleverley spent the last year on loan to Championship side Watford, scoring 11 goals in 33 appearances and won the club's player of the year award.
